Connection between Flange coupling adaptor and pipe
Connection between Flange coupling adaptor and pipe
(OP)
A steel flanged coupling adaptor of Class 300 is used to connect 500mm WS pipe to 500mm ,class 300 steel flange, at the connection between the coupling and the pipe a deflection is observed , about 6 deg, the working pressure is 50 bar , If the pipe is penetrated to the required distance inside the coupling , is it Ok to keep it with this deflection ? I dont have any information regarding the accepted value of deflection for the connection between the FCA and the pipe , but I assume it should be ZERO ???? any inputs regarding this value of deflection.
Note : attached photo for the deflected coupling before restraining.

Flanged Coupling Adapter (FCA)
Weir Slurry (WS)
Water Supply (WS)
Water Slurry (WS)
I have no idea what a WS is.

Contact the manufacturer of the adapter to find out what the alignment tolerance is for their adapter. Assuming it to be zero is neither realistic nor practical. Allowable deflection often depends on pipe size for a o-ring sealed joint.
