Dear all,
i am simulating High-velocity impact on sandwich structure in Abaqus. Could any one please guide me how can I simulate it?
1) how do i model sandwich structure? I saw there is a "skin" command in Abaqus, can i just add the skins to the core by using this command?
2) What should i do after modelling the sandwich structure?
3) Can i ask for an example from you guys?

You seem impatient??
I unfortunately cannot help you directly, as i have never used abaqus.
However, your situation is that you are looking at projectile impatation on honeycomb panels. This is a situation on auxilliary fuel tanks for military transport aircraft.
A lot depends upon the angle of the impact, and can in a lot of cases simply bounce off.
Modelling ths structure should be as normal for a honeycomb core sandwich panel.
Now a big but; your situation is about as far removed from a linear static situation as possible. To get any sensible results from FE that match anywhere near test, you need to run a dynamic analysis.
There are companies who specialise in the particular realm of interest, i would contact them, as you seem a little light on FE to even start the project your talking about (no offense).

So you need to provide more information such as :-
What velocity ?
What mass of impactor ?
What results are required ?
Is there a fuel tank involved ?
Then we might be able to answer if Abaqus can provide you with a solution.

They have done some high-impact analyses on various composite structures. Not sure if they were using Abaqus, but I do know that was one of the available tools.
