Similar to the addition of the variable pitch helix, has anyone ever done a variable or multiple tapered helix in one shot? Single tapers are easy but can I create a sweep, as in a thread, with a taper into a straight thread, and continue at some point later to taper out? Any plans for this feature?

RE: multi taper helix

Sure, if you use the method described in the first tutorial here:
http://www.solidengineering.co.nz/solidworks_free_tutorials.htm
(Also check out the third tutorial.)

Sweep your outer surface with a guide to establish your tapers (or do a centerline loft for the same).  Then sweep a line through the center that rotates while being swept.  Follow the tutorial for the rest of the details--piece of cake.
