How do I transfer AutoCAD 2008 drwgs to Ansys ?

Have you checked out File > Import in the pulldown menus and figured out which available option is compatible with Autocad?  Autocad isn't compatible with much of anything it seems.  Using IGES or SAT would be my recommendation.

The best way of doing this is via Step.
This can only be done in AutoCad Mechanical.

Here you can export lines, surfaces and bodies.

But there's no STEP reader in Ansys...WB perhaps.  I don't use it that much.

Try to go from WB to Ansys

I import geometry in parasolid format. It works in workbench.
