Interpolating contour lines

Interpolating contour lines

Interpolating contour lines

(OP)
I am using ACAD 2000 to draw a plan view of a terrain. my existing contour lines were drawn with polylines. I would like to drawn an intermediate elevation countour line without calculating positions(via interpolationg) between two known countour lines. Any idea, please remember LISP in not my forte.

CarlB, I can switch to ACAD 2004 if this program does not work with 2000.  I have never used LISP, so it is going to be an experience.  Thanks to the link.

RE: Interpolating contour lines

your best bet is to go back to the original data source which I assume is a DTM (TIN) and have the contours re-created with a smaller contour interval.

To the above responders,
Since the elevation of interest is within a narrow 15' range,I copied and retraced topography from USGS for the purpose of determining dam impoundment volume.  Note being savy with LISP, I think that an equivalent script program which I am lousy at developing would be better for me to utilise.   Unfortunately my programming abilities is only with FORTRAN, BASICS and spreadsheets.

RE: Interpolating contour lines

Did you try the referenced lisp routine?  To use it you need to know no lisp, just drag & drop the lisp file into the AutoCAD window.
