(OP)
I am having trouble dimensioning to geometry on my detail views hours later. It seems at times when I have the perfect
dimensioned detail view. I figured a better way to dimension
to the geometry. The problem is that I cannot go back to select the geometry in that detail view that I want to place a dimension on. I found that if I move the detail circle or offset the cricle a smudge and then do a rebuild most often I can go back and then it will allow me to pick the geometry to add a new dimension to. Anyone know of any other black magic tricks to this?

I'm assuming you've tried ctrl+Q?
It almost sounds like a graphics issue, almost. What video card/driver are you using? For that matter, what are the rest of your system specs?
