Standard for Ducts?
Standard for Ducts?
(OP)
We have lot of duct work.
Although general engineering practices are employed in making the specification, due to the quantum of work involved we were checking for ASME or ANSI Standard for Ducting.
Types of Duct:
1) HVAC
2) Gas Turbine exhaust
3) Other Exhausts
Are there some guidelines/Standards in ANSI/ASME?

RE: Standard for Ducts?
Look to the Standards of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors (SMACNA) for structural design of most light gage sheet metal type ducting.
Also. The Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation has an inexpensive design manual for tubular structures (e.g., stacks and boiler breaching) that will provide some design guidance (be careful as this publication has many typos and some are in the equations). ASME also has a Standard (STS-1) for steel stacks. Go here:

If you are going to do a significant amount of stack design or fitness for continued service evaluation of stacks, you may want to invest in a copy of the American Society of Civil Engineers publication, "The Structural Design of Air and Gas Ducts for Power Stations and Industrial Boiler Applications", go here:

This is the site for the Lincoln Arc Welding Foundation books (these books are one of the few great bargains today):

and for the Tubular Design book:

I should have said that "if you do much DUCT DESIGN...." the ASCE design manual would be a good investment.

RE: Standard for Ducts?
The ASCE manual is for INDUSTRIAL DUCT design. Sorry about the dyslectic typing fingers.
