ILL-CONDITIONED Stiffness message

ILL-CONDITIONED Stiffness message

ILL-CONDITIONED Stiffness message

(OP)
I am getting this message . Does any one know why and what is the solution to this:
***WARNING: THE MEAN NORMAL STRESS IS ZERO OR POSITIVE FOR ELEMENT 1068
INSTANCE PART-3-1 INTEGRATION POINT 4. THE RESULTING STIFFNESS  WILL BE ILL-CONDITIONED

THank you

RE: ILL-CONDITIONED Stiffness message

Ill conditioned refers to the stiffness matrix when the stiffness of adjacent elements is radically different. In most cases this is when one element has a stiffness close to zero. The answers you get then might vary substantially with small changes in the values of stiffness and as such your results might not be accurate.
