Location Changes - ASME BPV VIII Div2

Location Changes - ASME BPV VIII Div2

Does NBIC or ASME address the requirements in which to change a location of a Division 2 vessel? The UDS and MDR both reference a specific location in which the vessel will be located (with applicable wind loads, loadings, etc).  However I can not find anywhere which addresses the requirements when changing the location of that vessel.  Is this classified as a "Alteration" (re-rate) when you change the information on the A-1 form? And thus needs to be "R" stamped?  Or is this a purely documentation change, and the applicable documents need to be updated, approved (PE) and resubmited to the NB?

Some insight would be helpful if anyone has come accross this before.

Thanks!

RE: Location Changes - ASME BPV VIII Div2

a new user design spec must be written for the new location

someone must verify and issue a new manufactures design report saying that the vessel is good for the new location

if conditions are different   AT ALL  new calcs must be run to verify the existing design or to instruct to alterations.

I am pretty sure that an "R" for must be submitted shhowing the new information.

I hope the new version of the NB Code, soon to be released, confronts this issue.

I'm assuming the vessel must be "R" stamped as well?

Customers don't like purchasing an "R" vessel.  It's kind of like buying a 'refurbished' unit.
