Metallurgy Literature

(OP)
Dear Metallurgists,

Could any of you possibly point me in the direction of a decent book on metallurgy for a person who has limited knowledge of the subject, but needs to get up to speed fairly rapidly for work purposes?

I look forward to your responses.

RE: Metallurgy Literature

ASM International publishes 'Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist' for $172 USD. ASM can be reached at 800-336-5152. The order number is #06169G-CC. ASM Members can get the book for $138.

RE: Metallurgy Literature

ASM's Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist is one of the best references available.  The books recommended by Mr. Jones are good textbooks, and certainly worthy of consideration, but being from the USandAamericanflag I will recommend MftN-M.

RE: Metallurgy Literature

I agree with TVP,ASM's book Steel Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist is a good start!
