Masonry cost estimating

Masonry cost estimating

Masonry cost estimating

(OP)
I was wondering if anyone had a rough all-inclusive(materials and labor) estimating cost they used for masonry?

Looking for a rough cost, either per block, or square foot for a fully grouted 8" block with vertical reinforcement every 24".

I have the NCMA Tek's for material estimating, just nothing cost. I don't need exact numbers, just some rough figures I can throw around.

RE: Masonry cost estimating

what about 700 Thai Baht per square meter, all in. So about US$21 per square meter = US$1.9 per square foot.

RE: Masonry cost estimating

sounds incredibly low to me - I was thinking more along the lines of $10 - $20 per square foot.  Apparently, labor is much cheaper in Thailand than here.  Hunt007 - your cost is very much dependant on where you will be constructing your wall.

The location will be around metro New York, so I would imagine labor costs will be on the high side.

RE: Masonry cost estimating

Its got a lot to do with location and total square footage of wall.
For an elevator shaft I priced recently I carried roughly $20 per square foot including horizontal and vertical reinforcement and grout fill at 24"c/c. For a lager job it would be less.

RE: Masonry cost estimating

Well! In Thailand a block is 18" x 8" which is one square foot (is it? I'm more used to metric). So in metro NY I guess you don't lay many blocks per hour.

RE: Masonry cost estimating

i think labor is just much higher in cost in new york than it is in thailand.  think union wages and collective bargaining for starters...
