1-1/8" OD domestic water line would be what nominal size?

1-1/8" OD domestic water line would be what nominal size?

(OP)
I have a PE domestic water pipe that is 1-1/8" OD. What would the ID be?

I need to see if the service is big enough to handle two mobile trailers and a HQ.
Thanks for any answers.

RE: 1-1/8" OD domestic water line would be what nominal size?

We'll probably need to know more to answer your question.

Do you have sample of the pipe ? If so measure it.
Can you get the ASTM specification number for the pipe ? If so you can probably find your answers in the Plastic Pipe Institute website or in their publications.
What is an "HQ" ?
You'll also need a great deal more information to answer your question about adequacy. Demands, elevations, system pressures, applicable plumbing codes, etc.

good luck

Fixture count, head count, activities expected.  If the trailers are 10 stall shower facilities and HQ is an office with 25 people every day? Lots of things affect the water demand.

I thought somebody who works with plastic pipe would know the Outside Dimension as opposed to the Inside Dimension. All the specs I could find were either one or the other but not both.
The pipe is embedded into the concrete floor and converts to a 3/4" copper fitting so I cannot read any specs on the pipe.
The mobile homes will be tieing in off this line so I want to make sure the line is larger than 3/4".

I was able to find an old PE water pipe in the shop and it looks like 1-1/8" OD and 7/8" ID.

also HQ did stand for Headquarters.

RE: 1-1/8" OD domestic water line would be what nominal size?

the pipe wall thickness is almost certainly 1/8" thick or greater.  I have not seen PE pipe with thinner walls than that.  Given that there is not too much 7/8" pipe in service, you are probably looking at a 3/4" pipe.  This would also make sense because it ties into a 3/4" copper.

A 3/4 inch line will service one average house if the line is running at about 60-70 psi. you need a larger water line or will have to live with inadequate water supply.
