ASME B16.5-2003 Material Group 3.1 Nominal Designation

ASME B16.5-2003 Material Group 3.1 Nominal Designation

(OP)
ASME B16.5-2003 shows an incorrect "Nominal Designation" on Table 1A, Table 2-3.1, and Table F2-3.1

The correct nominal designation should be 35Ni–35Fe–20Cr–Cb

RE: ASME B16.5-2003 Material Group 3.1 Nominal Designation

Good Catch! I found that the 1988, 1996, 1996/98a B16.5 standards all state 20Cr as well. It must have been missed in the 2003 Edition.

It does not appear that the committee has identified this error.. yet...or maybe they have and there is a plan to put into the 2007 B16.5?
I suggest you contact a member of the committee that approves errata to this standard. Here is a link to the committee where you will find the committee staff contact person: http://cstools.asme.org/csconnect/CommitteePages.cfm?Committee=N10060600

There are three kinds of people in this world; those who can Google and those who can't.
