(OP)
Please let me know the differences between ASME Code VIII div 2 and IBR.
The thicknesses calculated as per ASME code are adequate also for IBR?
Please let me know if there is a program according to IBR.
Thank you in advence for reply.

RE: indian boiler regulations

One is the American Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for Alternative Rules for Construction of Pressure Vessels and the other is the Indian Boiler Regulations (issued 1950 and updated 2005). For details regarding the Indian Boiler Regulations, please visit the indiaboiler.com website. As far as calculations concerns, the Division 1 (rather than Section VIII Division 2) seems to be more suitable for Boilers. Also, I believe that the Indian regulators would happily accept the appropriate ASME calculations, in accordance with specific IBR requirements. Sorry, I do not have knowledge of any software specific to IBR requirements.
best regards,

RE: indian boiler regulations

We recently constructed a couple of vessels going to India and one of the items in project spec. was that we had to meet IBR

Told my customer before starting the job that I had no interest in finding anything out about the IBR, would do anything to confirm what IBR wanted, and would not consider building per the IBR at all.

I guess the accept ASME Sect VIII Div. 1, because the use accepted our use of that code, at least for these vessels.
