Thermal Barrier

Thermal Barrier

Thermal Barrier

(OP)
I must apologize in advance for the flaky way this question is worded, I cant think of a different way to put it !

I need a thermal Barrier between a cylinder head and a bearing block. In order to stop the heat transfer from the exhaust into the Plain bearing. Basically 2 blocks of aluminum   one hot the other not , and I would like to put a thermal barrier between them.

I remember a long time ago using a white paper like substance that was good for 100 deg c

It needs to slow as much as possible the heat transfer from approx 100 deg c , and be stable in oil , ie not fret and small particle breaking off

Can any one give me a lead or at least clarify my thoughts

Stephen
