Power Coaxial Cable

Dear All,
Does anyone of you come across the application of LV coaxial cable in power distribution network ?  The idea is to prevent energy losses due to tampering cases.  How feasible & practical is this idea ?  Which cable manufacturer has produced this kind of cable & use in which utility ?  Appreciate your all comment.

RE: Power Coaxial Cable

Some UK utilities have old paper lead 3 phase concentric low voltage cables still in service, but these are old installations. One of the downsides in the UK is that it is very difficult to devise a safe method of live jointing, and the industry is being driven to minimise interruptions to customers. The Company I used to work for would permit live jointing of services onto the outer phase only, which obviously leads to load imbalance. To do straight joints, or anything other than tapping a new service onto the main, requires dead working. In my experience these cables are being cut away and replaced with traditional 3 or 4 core cables as and when they require extending or repairs. Another down side was jointing. None of the joint manufacturers were interested in developing joints for triple concentric cable due to low volume usage.
