Induction Box in Restroom
Induction Box in Restroom
(OP)
Hi, I need to learn more on the induction box application. Is it still used? I am looking at remodeling a 30 year old large facility, and on the old plans I see boxes that looks like a VAV box supplying air to the rest rooms, but labled as an induction box. Are there any manufactureres around and any info on how to and why use them in todays buildings. What can they be replaced with?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Induction units are very useful where there is a fixed requirement for outside air. High velocity fresh air induces air flow through a heating/cooling coil (recirculated air).
Hospitals are a good application.

A 'modern day' induction box would be an active chilled beam (ACB).
