(OP)
hey all - i'm providing a simple, stand alone, exterior mechanical pad to support a 2,500 lb freezer. size and soil not a problem. is it common practice to detail this unreinforced? the footprint is 12.5'x3.5' so it's really not seeing much bending. i have many interior mechanical pad details, all of which are r/f to tie to the slab. this one will not tie to anything and will not be subjected to shaking or vibration.
thanks in advance!

RE: mechanical pad
T&S steel is not really needed for a free standing slab of that size. And if the base is solid and UNIFORM to prevent differential settling, there will be no significant bending.
