HELP...'RELEASED' ASSEMBLY
HELP...'RELEASED' ASSEMBLY
(OP)
Hi, After playing around in file properties on a big assembly i've managed to click 'released' on the status tab. S now all parts in that assembly are in a 'released' state and therefore are read only.
Can anyone suggest a way to put this back into an editable state without overwriting all the parts. I've never seen this function before and to be honest can't see why anyone would use it......surely parts need to be edited occasionally.
I'd appreciate a hasty reply if poss
thanks v much

The released state is intended for when you send an project to the production line and you want to keep your parts intact. Then you will be force to make a copy of the parts if you need to revised them.

RE: HELP...'RELEASED' ASSEMBLY
one possibility is: open each part within the ASM's context
and do a SaveAs (different. name) the last one being the ASM itself.
The other option is to get the PowerToys from Jason Newell
(www.jasonnewell.net) contained is a StatusChanger
