Ojects Not Showing up

Ojects Not Showing up

(OP)
Good morning, I am still using SW2006 and I opened a new drawing  and then I selected object and create from file and I correctly select a .jpg picture file, which opens in Photo Editor, an I place it in the middle of the drawing.  Normally I would check linked, but that appears to have no effect.  I can not get the pictice to appear in the box, no matter what I do to it, but if I double click on it it opens in phot editor, only.  What am I doing wrong here?  I follow the proceedure in help exactly.  Any suggestion will be deeply appreciated.

RE: Ojects Not Showing up

This has been covered many times here before.

The simplest and most fool-proof way is to open the image in an OLE compliant viewer (Paint, xNview, irfan, etc) and then copy and paste it from there.

cheers

Bingo that did it and it did not disappear.  Thanks allot.

RE: Ojects Not Showing up

Hello quest4k,

Word of caution... most Windows programs (e.g. SolidWorks, Word, Excel) do not handle JPEG compression. So the JPEG you pasted will be uncompressed, and your file size will be very large. We have had performance issues with this in the past.

You may want to use BMP, GIF or TIF and lower the resolution if possible.

Cheers,

Thanks for the response and FYI, josephv.  I don't think that will be a problem with us because we don't use compression on anything, because we have a lot of space on the severs.
