Error when Launching NX4

Error when Launching NX4

Error when Launching NX4

(OP)
I have installed NX4 on a laptop (windows XP) to do a demo.

I have installed the Flexlm license manager and that runs ok.

However, when I launch NX, I get the following error:-

#######################################################

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.

   Runtime Error!

   Programme C:\Programe Files\UGS\NX 4.0\UGII\ugraf.exe

   Abnormal Programme Termination

#######################################################

I've tried reinstalling NX & the flexlm.

Any Ideas.

Cheers in advance.

RE: Error when Launching NX4

I'm not promising this is the problem, but if you have Internet Explorer 7 installed, you need to delete %UGII_BASE_DIR%/ugii/psapi.dll.  See the SFB below from Siemens' website:

[start clip]
SOFTWARE FIELD BULLETIN
NX 4 and NX 3 Will Not Start After Internet Explorer V7.0 Is Installed
Symptom/Problem
Attempting to start NX 4 or NX 3, once IE V7.0 is installed, will display an error:

Fatal Error
Fatal error detected unable to continue
The syslog file will have the entry:

     Daylight Time
+++ Unhandled operating system exception: e06d7363
     [1] 7C812A5B
     (kernel32)
     [2] 202B908A
     (libsyss)
     [3] (libsyss)
     [4] 202B7AD8

Solution/Workaround
Delete the %UGII_BASE_DIR%/ugii/psapi.dll file.

Note: UGS provided the psapi.dll file for Windows NT compatibility. However, it is no longer needed since it is included in the Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems.

References/Notes
If any questions arise regarding this field bulletin, the Global Technical Access Center may be contacted at (800) 955-0000 for USA & Canada. If you are outside the United States and Canada, any questions regarding this or any other SFB should be directed to your local support office, quoting the SFB number.

If that doesn't work or you have already done that, and still get the error, I would call GTAC unless someone else knows for sure what the problem is.
