whips nd chains mmmm lol
(OP)
Just being naughty lol
Seriously tho my question is not exactly solidworks related but I do have a question about chains and gears.
sprocket 1 is 200mm dia
sprocket 2 is 100 dia
First example distance between sprocket centers is 1000mm
second example same sprockets but distance is 500mm
which is easiest to turn???
The reason I ask is a person I work with said that if you shorten the length of chain between sprockets it gets harder to turn (think pushbike)But i dont get it ???
Having modeled up a simple gear box with belts a while back and using gear mates what he said doesn't ring right ???
The machine that we were trying to fix today has a lot of sprockets and chains and we think we may have to do some mods on it cool
Thanks gurus
