Does anyone know an equation to calculate the 6th stage compressed air temperature inside a 17 stage gas turbine.

Knowns:  Inlet Temperature and Pressure, Outlet Temperature and temperature, mass flow

Thanks,

RE: 6th stage temperature

You would have to know the compression ratio at that particular stage or the compression ratio per stage up to and including that stage to make such a calculation.  If you just want a ball park number, you could take the overall compression ratio of the entire compressor section and take the ratio of the 6th stage in relation to all stages, but if you want an exact number see the first sentence of this paragraph.

RE: 6th stage temperature

look up "polytropic" im Marks handbook.

PV^n =C

n={1-ln(T2/T1)/ln(P2/P1)}^-1

use the known P1,P2 T2,T1 to calc C and n. Then revise P2 for he pressure at the 16 th stage to get T16; or just plot it on log-log graph paper. ( absolute temps to be used)

Thank you guys. I did the calculation and ran a compressor model as well as used an infrared camera while the unit was running.  The results were all pretty close to each other.
Thanks for the help.
