Dimension in drawing

Hi all,

I am trying to create a drawing from 3-D model. The 3-D model is made in Metric and i have to make drawing in US units. Whenever i dimension 2-D it takes Metrics unit based on the relationship to 3-D drawing. Please advise me.

Hi Hydromech,

I do not want to change the unit system for part. Is there any option in the drawing mode which allows to convert metric to US

RE: Dimension in drawing

If you are not able or willing to change the units in the part, I would suggest creating an assembly with inch units and create your drawing of that. All dimensions will need to be created.

RE: Dimension in drawing

You can change the units display in the drawing.  RMB in a blank area, pick properties/drawing options.  Scroll down to the dimensions options and set dual_dimensions to secondary, dual_secondary_units to mm.  You may also want to set dual_digits_diff to -1.
