Finding equation of a curve in matlab

Finding equation of a curve in matlab

Finding equation of a curve in matlab

(OP)
Hi,
I need to find a single equation to represent the curve shown in the attached figure. I have access to MATLAB if that will help. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
David

RE: Finding equation of a curve in matlab

Ya i know that but let me explain the problem. I need to solve a dynamic problem and this curve represents the load-deflection characteristics of a spring. So, instead of a linear F=kx, I would need an equation that represents this curve. Do you think I can curve fit and get a single equation  (if yes can MATLAB give me the equation of the line after curve fitting) or will I have to solve it in two halves with a ramp t<3750 and remaining constant?

Thanks,
David
