how can we produce N (neutral)  & PE (potential earth in the three pahse system. I got one panel eqpt needs 3 phase power supply 400 v(l1,L2,L3) and N, PE. these N & PE going to control circuit. Can I use Neutral of main generator set for N, how about PE? The terminal block  board has 5 for power supply input namely: L1,L2,L3,N,PE. We don't know where we can take these (N & PE)pls give me some advise. this is for the ship. thank you.

RE: power suplly with N & PE

"N" means the neutral, which may carry current under normal conditions when you have line-to-neutral loads.
"PE" means the protective earth and will not be carrying current at normal conditions. This cable will be the return path during faults to ground.
Both however are connected to the neutral point of the 3-phase transformer / generator and care is taken to indentify each cable on a cable run. Your equipment is designed for 5-wire, 3-phase(PE and N separate).
Hope this helps.

hi burnt2x,
thanks for your info. it's really a big help. Is the L to N has voltage? Iwas thinking that this N is just floating. Can we connect N from Y connected generator going this N of panel board.or maybe can we use nuetral from bus bar? why they are using this kind of power supply, nrmally power supply inout is l1l2l3, buth here added N & PE thanks again.

RE: power suplly with N & PE

If your generator breaker has a 4th pole (4-pole breaker), the wye-point of the generator is wired to this 4th terminal and is "earthed". The load-side terminal opposite the 4th pole is then wired to the "N" bus bar. This will make sure your system is "earthed" at the generator when it is operational, "isolated" when generator is off (one ground rule). L_N sure has a potential! PE goes to earth (equipment ground)

Hope this helps.
