I have a back up file that is not an .apa file, it is just the files saved to a disk by the machine builder, however when I cut and paste the folder to the ME projects folder it doesn't show up when I try to open a project, I have tried ME and SE what am i doing wrong?

RE: RSView file transfer

You must restore the backup first.

RE: RSView file transfer

Your machine builder did it wrong.  RSView Studio projects are  tied tightly into the FactoryTalk Directory and the only way to move them between Studio computers is to use the Application Manager to create a Backup (*.apa) file and then Restore it on the other machine.

You can import all the objects that were sent to you individually into a new project, but you might not get every aspect of the project (like security settings).

Get the machine builder to send you a *.APA file.
