Structural notes

Structural notes

(OP)
This is reguarding the adoption of the new IBC code in California starting Jan 1 08.

Currently our company has a General Structural Notes sheet that covers all material, workmanship, inspections... but with the adoption of the new code these general notes will change. Therefore we need to change our notes but we would like to do it as quick and pain free as possible.

Does anyone have any information that may help some of us out in reguards to this issue? I realize that we can go through our current notes and change referances and such but I am looking for a type of standard format or such for this new code.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

RE: Structural notes

Talk to your structural engineering association, they probably have a set of standard notes made up for members.

RE: Structural notes

I don't see it as that big of a job.  Most of your technical information is still applicable.  You'll have to change the format of the wind and seismic loads and make your references current.
We have projects in many different jurisdictions with many different codes enforced.  Marking up the General Notes is second nature to us and makes us read them for every project.
