Roll bond cladding vs. explosion bond cladding

Roll bond cladding vs. explosion bond cladding

Roll bond cladding vs. explosion bond cladding

(OP)
Roll bond clad is better than explosion bond, but is there any inspection/examination difference between them? Is roll bond more expensive than explosion bond?

Thanks.

Are you sure? Better check your sources.

RE: Roll bond cladding vs. explosion bond cladding

that's what I was gonna say, but I considered it "opinion" and not fact....so I didn't

we use explosion bonded

RE: Roll bond cladding vs. explosion bond cladding

lilili, I thnk I addressed this before on some other thread, but the decision to use roll- or expl- bonded clad can have more to do with cost and delivery than which is "better".

It seems Purchasing at my old company said you need to buy at least two pieces of roll bond because they roll them face-to-face. For one piece its det-bond or WOl.

Det bond may not be suitable for thinner backer metals, I'm not sure.

As always, "It depends."

Regards,

Mike
