2008 Command Manager

2008 Command Manager

2008 Command Manager

(OP)
I, and some others I know, have had the issue seen in my attachment, where the command manager hangs down over the FM tabs. One way I found to fix it is:

• Turn off the command manager (RMB in the toolbar area).
• Drag any remaining toolbars into the graphics area.
• Turn the command manager back on.

I don't know who, what or why, but this fix worked on my machine.

RE: 2008 Command Manager

Good catch, Jeff.  However, I have never been a fan of the Command Manager, and haven't used it for quite some time now.  It seems to me like it wastes clicks and real estate.

RE: 2008 Command Manager

Did you try SP1? They fixed the location of the tab bar, the bug where the tabs were displayed over the feature tree (the one shown in, for instance, the mate tool) is fixed as well, so yours might be too?

RE: 2008 Command Manager

Happy New Year All!

I'd like the Command Manager To allow showing multiple command tabs and toolbars simultaneously. It would act more like a toggle bar or allow activating or showing multiple tabs possibly by selecting one and then CTRL+Selecting a second. This was especially annoying in 2006 when there was a sketcher and dimension/relations icon.

You can actually add and rename the tabs for typical commands used for specific modeling techniques.
To do so Right click the Command MGR Tab bar and select customize cmd mgr. You will see a TAB to the right side with a * on it. If you click this tab it will show text [new tab]
Customize 1
New Tab & Add Rename
Michael's Tab

SHORTCUT BAR
The Shortcut Bar is a great tool because it allows you to access frequently used commands by hitting the s key (SW default) or setting it to activate with the b key if you like using s for Suppress. The Shortcut Bar saves the customization depending on the mode you are in Part Sketcher Assembly Drawing.
