i don't have enough space to properly describe a vessel on my U1-a form.  is there a supplementary form such as U-4 or P-6 that i can use?

RE: code forms

(OP)
i thank you both for the information but availability of the forms or where to find them was not my question.  i was asking if using one or the other forms was okay or not and if so, which form would be best.

i have filled out many U1-a's but have never needed an extension due to normal design of the product we normally manufacture.

per section VIII i find reference to U1-a but i have not found any reference to U-4 or P-6.

RE: code forms

Your AI is there to help.

Please see NONMANDATORY APPENDIX W GUIDE FOR PREPARING MANUFACTURER’S DATA REPORTS, paragraph W-2(d) states the following....

Quote:

(d) Where more space than has been provided for on
the Form is needed for any item, indicate in the space “See
remarks” or “See attached U-4 Form,” as appropriate.

The P-6 is reserved for Section I items and is utilized in the same fashion as the U-4 for VIII-1 items.

You cannot mix and match VIII-1 Forms with I Forms.

Thank you very much CodeJackal.  That is exactly the information i was looking for.  My A/I must have had a senior moment when we were talking about this.  This solves everything.  I read appendix W after reading your reply.  It helps a lot.
