Folks, in the absence of any manufacturer info, what is allowable contact resistance value for 230kV Dead Tank Circuit Breaker and the reference standard I can check on? Thanks

RE: Contact Resistance

According to NETA Maintenance Testing Specification 2005, in th absence of manufacturer information, the results hould be compared with like items and any deviation of more than 50% from adjacent poles or the lowest value should be investigated.

Here's where your commissioning records, factory test data and previous maintenance test records are of value.

You can also evaluate on the basis of I^2R at rated current.  The heat generated by contact resistance and current has to go somewhere.

RE: Contact Resistance

Need more information and I can give you a rough idea:
-Continuous current rating of breaker
-Type of breaker – Bulk oil – SF6-
-Manufacturer – Westinghouse, GE, Etc
