2008 lmgrd Error

2008 lmgrd Error

2008 lmgrd Error

(OP)
Has anyone had the "lmgrd.exe" error pop up at Windows start-up (and a loud beep) after installing SW 2008?
I get the error every time. My VAR, SolidWorks and my company don't know how to fix it.
I uninstalled SW and ACAD, then reinstalled (SW first, then ACAD). The error stays. When I search for system errors, it says it has something to do with the SW license.
Everything checks and runs good after the error. Just annoying.
Thanks.

RE: 2008 lmgrd Error

I'm not sure if this will help much, but 'lmgrd.exe' is a Macrovision license manager daemon. Maybe yours is corrupt or out of date for SW08? The latest versions can be obtained from http://www.macrovision.com/downloads.htm under FLEXnet Publisher > Files & Utilities

Good Luck.

cheers

Thanks CBL.
It's a step in the right direction, but it didn't fix anything. It found the file, but nothing happened.
I think I may need to do another complete uninstall/reinstall. Thanks.

RE: 2008 lmgrd Error

It is probably run as a service, you could check if it is starting under the proper user account (try starting it as administrator instead of system).

{windows key}-R and type 'services.msc' to open the service manager. Also you can restart it here yourself, so no restart required to see if it's working.

Thanks Stefan. I searched there. But the error happens at startup and login, then goes away. The service doesn't see it.

RE: 2008 lmgrd Error

Could there be a typo in your license file? The utilities coming with the suite should be able to diagnose that.

Ahhh!!
I just noticed.
My VAR sent me the license file, it didn't work. I called them, he said it was a temp file.
He sent me a new one, everything works. BUT, I have SW PRO.
When I look at the license info, it says SW Premium. Maybe an issue there?

RE: 2008 lmgrd Error

Well, I just saw another post in the SW forum about SW pro being recognized as Premium, so at least you're not the only one...
