Pl. let me know two or more consumers can be connected from phase CTs. Each component also has a test switch with shorting blocks. Also the requirement is that each component can be isolated. If anybody has a wiring diagram, let me know.

RE: Current Transformer Connections

What do you mean by the use of the word "consumers"?

I mean two UR series GE make relays : T35 & F35

RE: Current Transformer Connections

cherry2000, one concern you might also need to consider CT saturation. You will need to look at the burden of the CT, wiring to the T35 & F35 relays, and the internal burden of the relays. I don't have the papers in front of me, but there are several on how to calculate the burden.

RE: Current Transformer Connections

The burden of numeric relays is extremely low, the conductors in the CT circuit are much more of a burden.

cherry2000, can you please expand on your question, what exactly is your concern?  Wiring diagrams should be available from the vendor web sites.  ABB and States both sell FT type test switches.

RE: Current Transformer Connections

To answer your original question, if I understand it, you can put two relays in series on the same CT and use test switches to allow either (or both)relays to be isolated from the CT current for testing, maintenance, etc.  It's done all the time.

As mentioned, check ABB and States for typical wiring diagrams for current test switches.

Thanks all.. I shall check the sites. If anybody has a link to any particular site, it will be helpful

RE: Current Transformer Connections

Just Google "ABB Test Switches"
