how to glue Stainless Steel

I don't if this the right section.

For a custum we make a baseball of stainless Steel. diameter 70mm. We allso cut the ball seam, 0.5 mm SS.

Now the problem!
Because it is a design welding is no option
How can we glue both SS to gehter.

We used
Loctite
q-glue
sillicon

To require to which must satisfy the solution.
 - it must be stuck
- glue or parts of it cannot be visible

On the seam a light tension sits, the seam have the correct
form (he must slightly on the ball be pressed.

Best regards

RE: how to glue Stainless Steel

Are you going to use a backing strip so that the glue joint is  double lap joint?  You will need to lightly abrade or etch the areas to be glued.  I prefer epoxy for this work.

RE: how to glue Stainless Steel

Why not stitch it with stainless wire, it will at least "look" like a baseball then.

RE: how to glue Stainless Steel

So you are trying to stick two massive stainless ball halves together?  Or trying to glue the plastic emblem to the surface of the ball?

I'll go with the latter, since it looks like the challenging part - try a 3M acrylic adhesive tape.

No No

The Ball is masive prox. 4pound SS
the ball seam, 0.5 mm SS.

I only need to glue the ball seam on the masive ball

RE: how to glue Stainless Steel

Not sure any glue would hold it very well, given the small area for glue to adhere to, and the fact that you can't put a big glue bond fillet (no exposed/visible glue).

Maybe resistance spot welding the "seam" strip down would work.

But, it wouldn't it look way cooler to drill holes for the seam "stitches", and then glue wire staples into those holes to simulate the actual seam stitches on a real baseball?

I try to solder perhaps it wil hold!

RE: how to glue Stainless Steel

Looking at the picture, is it purely for display? If thats the case, drill and tap the upper half, drill and countersink the lower half, pult a bolt through and grind back the excess
