re: Slug Calculations

re: Slug Calculations

re: Slug Calculations

(OP)
Hi,

I would like to acquire information about slug formation in process tubing.  My concern is if we need any additional support at the end of the tubing due to the momentum force generated under this scenario.

I had some small tubing connected to the secondary side of the boiler at (P=700 psi, T=260C).  These sample lines are at the stagnant condition normally, and there is a drain valve located 200-300 ft tube length away of the boiler.  There is a scenario when operator need to drain these lines once a while.  Can slug form under this condition?

Thanks
