If I have a cut to length piece of rubber door seal off a roll which I want to make fit various different shapes of doors on our machines is there any way of showing alternate solutions that will reflect the true shape in different master assemblies We don't have flexible component modelling.

RE: Alternate representations

Why do you say that you "don't have flexible component modelling"?  All that you need is a regular Assemblies license.  There is no special license needed.

RE: Alternate representations

Part Deformations may be worth investigating if the sections are simple straight lines To deform the section around a contour I would think of it as a making the installed from the original and accept that the sections need to be individually swept. You might link the section from a master section file if you want to be a little more sophisticated.

Hope this helps

basically We will have a master file with a 2D profile of the rubber section, this will then be geometry linked in to a "cut to length" part number and swept round the curves of a door frame for instance. This will give us an as installed model with a drawing detailing it's length. The master drawing will be a charted dfrawing that will have all cut to length parts detailed on it i.e part no and length. However if someone is searching for a length of the section and finds that the required cut to length part already exisits, we would want them to use this to save taking out another part number. The problem then is that the as installed shape will probably be different so they would want to deform the part to suit their given application. Can this be done without special licenses such as flexible component modelling. (see attached section from our company standards).

Many thanks for all your help.
