What is a good system for running SolidWorks

What is a good system for running SolidWorks

What is a good system for running SolidWorks

(OP)
I work for a small company that is growing quickly. An increasing number of customers are asking for 3D models so my employer is planning on purchasing a new computer for me to use with SolidWorks. We are currently running SolidWorks 2004 in conjunction with AutoCAD 2005.

Any suggestions and/or what to avoid would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This topic has been chewed over like a piece of over cooked Thanks Giving turkey.  Please search this forum and when in doubt check with a SWx VAR that's what they do for a living.

RE: What is a good system for running SolidWorks

Depends on your budget. Likely won't be much if they've been too cheap to upgrade you from SW04. Also depends on your products. Large assemblies, complex shapes and patterns or simple small stuff?

Just make sure the video card is certified per the link given by Heckler

In the following links StefanHamminga has listed systems for ~$5K and ~$11K
thread559-200440: Hardware, the usual question(s).......
thread559-194439: If you could have your dream system?

Out of curiosity, what are your current system specs?
