Try Deriving Assembly: Drops Components, Get Error

Try Deriving Assembly: Drops Components, Get Error

Try Deriving Assembly: Drops Components, Get Error

(OP)
Hi,

I just started using inventor and am trying to derive an assembly.  When I try to derive it, only the base component is now visible and i get a "Modeling failure while trimming and discarding faces," and a "Modeling failure while intersecting faces/edges (may be self intersecting?)." error.  I can still derive each component individually, but not the entire assembly. (I am just trying to scale the entire assembly.) Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

RE: Try Deriving Assembly: Drops Components, Get Error

I am assuming you checked the Inv Help files before posting this question.

Did you select all the components you need in the pop-up when you start making the derived part?  If so, the only other problem I can think of is there is a some sort of interference in your assembly.  Try Tools--Analyze Interference.
