Valve selection for a water stream with high content of sand

(OP)
Hello

How to select a valve for a fluid (sea water) with a very high content of sandf?
Our company is working on a desander project to remove sands from crude oil via a cyclone desander. The separted sand then will be collected in an accumulator tank and periodically these sands will be removed from the accummulator through a TORE Unit.
The water stream that will remove the sand needs to be controlled and I am in charge of sizing and sellection of these valves.

Does anyone know a reference or standard that can be used for such a job?

Thank you.

Mehran
