Low voltage Power Systems (Building constructions)

Low voltage Power Systems (Building constructions)

(OP)
Hi, I am new to this forum, and a fresh electrical eng. graduate. I currently work in the ministry of Housing Welfare , and all of our works are LV systems from 415v/240V S/S distributed to general buldings i.e schools, health centers and so on. I need some advice on this area.

There are several equipments and protective devices that I havent worked on yet that I really need some help on. For example: Trip units like Digitrip from cutler-Hammer.

Moreover, if any one knows some valuable info on zone interlocking.

RE: Low voltage Power Systems (Building constructions)

You need help?

To get it you need to ask specific, clear questions  in separate posts.

Also it would help to know where you are.

Find the Eaton/Cutler-Hammer Consulting Application Guide and read the first section of it.

Thank you all ... I do appreciate the replies, especially it was my 1st post. I already checked out the sites and got good info.

Note: any one of you have worked in construction sites?
As either site engineer or a sub-contractor?

Any how thank you for the tips all..

RE: Low voltage Power Systems (Building constructions)

If you have no experienced engineers to guide (which you should), you might try consulting with the local sales representative. Be somewhat cautious however as these people may know their products but may not be engineers or understand your applications.

I have worked at construction sites. Do you have a specific question in that regard?

RE: Low voltage Power Systems (Building constructions)

I've designed projects that have been constructed.  Ask your question and see what you get.  Clear, concise, and well formed questions get far better responses than vague thing like "any one of you have worked in construction sites? "

I know my question was vague, but I guess thanx to my question I pin pointed out alehman ,or vise versa..

Regarding my work, I started by approving check list of electrical installation from PVC pipes, electrical wiring to 13 amp sockets in public schools...after that started to approve tender and shop drawings for the contractor to apply the electrical works.

Most of my challenges are now is with some office work, However, I think in the near future I will check some short circuit calculation for some of the contractors electrical design. Moreover, at this moment I am approving some protective devices just like the DIGIT trip I mentioned in one of my previous posts.

I just hope that I will get familiarized with the project Im working in, and hope I will have some help with you all..Im really grateful
