Load testing procedure for mechanical Anchors

Load testing procedure for mechanical Anchors

(OP)
Friends,

Does anybody know the load testing procedure for mechanical anchors suchas Manta Ray anchors? The anchor mat was already installed and loaded in a near vertical cut. The anchor mat was installed approximately 6 months ago and the top portion of the veritcal section was failed recently. We would like to check the anchor condtion. Can we adopt the procedure described in FHWA ground anchor manual and soil nail manual. I will be greatful to you if you procvide me information.

Thanks and regards

RE: Load testing procedure for mechanical Anchors

The FHWA testing you refer to is probably for grouted anchors, which is not what Manta Rays are.  Call Manta Ray for their recommendations.
