Does anyone know if there is a weld that will withstand 2500 psi on the end cap/plug of a pressure vessel. The butt weld fittings are only good for up to 1470 psi. I am using a 5" diameter pipe.

The 1470 psi rating on butt weld fittings are for schedule 80 pipe.

I am at a loss as to what exactly you have in your situation. What is the rating of the current end cap material and to what standard was this supplied under? What is the current weld joint detail of this cap? What is the code of construction?
