Instant Covered Bridge

Instant Covered Bridge

(OP)
Perhaps FEMA can now find a use for those unused trailers they bought for Hurricane Katrina.

RE: Instant Covered Bridge

Ouch! Not good!

RE: Instant Covered Bridge

Looks like the only thing salvagable might be the double axle trailer assembly.  I trust this is not a salmon stream.

Assuming this bridge was on private p[roperty, it makes you wonder how the concrete truck crossed the bridge to pour the foundation - 1 yard loads?

RE: Instant Covered Bridge

All you need is access to one side and a crane or a boom truck or a low point in the stream to cross over or perhaps another bridge downstream.

Great photograph! I cannot believe someone would try to drive that trailer across that former bridge. This is a new and unexpected location for his new trailer home!

RE: Instant Covered Bridge

I saw a special on TV recently of a client with mega$$$$$$$$$$$$ who actually built a home over a flash flood draw in either New Mexico or Arizona.  Close to a 60 or 70 foot span I believe with some very hefty steel girders to say the least.

Maybe this was the first attempt?  bigsmile

I bet the driver pulling that trailer had to change his underwear.

RE: Instant Covered Bridge

Worst Clint Eastwood movie.

"The Bridges of Hazard County"

RE: Instant Covered Bridge

That was Madison County, but the pun works.  bigsmile
