External Pressure on Exchanger Tubes

External Pressure on Exchanger Tubes

External Pressure on Exchanger Tubes

(OP)
I have a situation where I need to rerate a heat exchanger to a higher temperature and derate the pressure.  The required temperature exceeds the limits of the corresponding  exteranl pressure table in Subpart 3.  Is it accepatble to interpolate these curves?  If not, is there another method for analyzing components under external pressure?  Thanks for any advice.

RE: External Pressure on Exchanger Tubes

lcmechengr, this would appear to be not permitted. See UG-20(c).

Regards,

Mike
