NX 5 progressive die standard parts library

NX 5 progressive die standard parts library

NX 5 progressive die standard parts library

(OP)
I am working with nx5 progressive die. We have multiple seats and the designers want to share the standard parts library. Is this possible and if so how?
Thanks
David

RE: NX 5 progressive die standard parts library

Exact details, I don't have.
Generally, NX has in its configuration file a line that points to the location for the files on your local drive. There may also be a custom file location line, there is for CAM files.
You need to change the location to point to a network drive location on each workstation and copy one set of the files to that location.
I am not doing NX support at the moment, so that is why it is only an overview of how to do it.

RE: NX 5 progressive die standard parts library

You have env variables that define where the lib is located all you have to do is make all of the computers look to the same dir and put all of the components in that folder.

here they are"

PDIEWIZARD_DIR       C:\Program Files\UGS\NX 4.0\pdiewizard
PDIEWIZARD_LIB_DIR   C:\Program Files\UGS\NX 4.0\pdiewizard

This is what the default dirs are

Setting the variables on each system is the only way I've ever tried to do this.

I did this with moldwizard and I put the whole moldwizard folder under ug on a network drive so everything having to do with moldwizard comes from the same place for everyone.

Hope this helps
