Errors after Joining Domain

(OP)
I just built a new box at home. Installed XP Pro 64, Office 2007, SW 2007 64 SP.0. with a certified video card. Nvidia Quatro 3500 with approved drivers. All tested fine at home, took it to work, joined the domain, log on to it & SW immediately has an unexpected error, says it is closing but continues to launch. I get other errors...HW can't write to etc. Do I have to uninstall & reinstall as logged onto the domain?

RE: Errors after Joining Domain

I would try a repair first.

Theoretically, joining a domain shouldn't clobber anything you already have installed, but the reality is sometimes different.  The domain controller may have automated scripts that change the registry, install other programs or something else that causes problems for SW.

Thanks for the response PDMAdmin. I will try this when I get back into the office. I might add when I log in locally and open the SW files on the server through network places all is well, except my email client of course.

FYI, I found the problem. I had not created the proper profile on the new computer, all I needed to do was add a profile with the domain. Everything works.

RE: Errors after Joining Domain

weevoe,

Thanks for the info.  That's another tool to put in my toolbelt.  A star for you.
