1010 Steel

1010 Steel

(OP)
What is the yield strength, and tensile strength of 1008 and 1010 steel used for stamped parts in the automotive industry. I am getting confused with cold drawn, bar, hotdrawn, annealed, etc.

Where can I get a stress strain curve values that I can use in ABAQUS?

Thanks

RE: 1010 Steel

Have you tried www.matweb.com.  It won't give you a stress strain curve, but it will give you a yield strength and ultimate.  These are fairly ductile materials, if I recall correctly.  Could probably get away with a Von Mises with Isotropic Hardening model...

RE: 1010 Steel

The strain-stress will depending on the condition of material:

cold drawn, cold work effect - higher strength, less ductile
bar, no related to your concern
hotdrawn, will be likely similar to annealed, soft and ductile
annealed, very soft and ductile

You need to find out the exact condition of the material to determine its s-s curve, or maybe you can just do some tests by spending several hundreds bucks.
