Loading-Applying Loads

(OP)
Hello,

I am new to abaqus.
I have an example and perhaps someone could assist.

Example 1:
Rectangular plate 6x2x1 in I want to apply a uniform load on one end of the plate in the negative z direction.

What is the best way to simulate a bending test?

a)Should I apply the load at the midpoint of the side?
b)Should I space out the load across a number of points on that side?
c)Other methods?

Please let me know what you think will get me the most accurate results.  Thanks a mil,
Jerry

RE: Loading-Applying Loads

Accurate in comparison to what? It depends on the real life situation that you're trying to model, otherwise this is just an academic exercise.
