12KV Oil Filled Distribution Transformer required protection

(OP)
Do any one know what the code requirements are, if any, for a transformer overpressure and high temperature protection? We were accessing the top of our transformer and found separtely the pressure and temperature sensor leads are not going back to the upstream breaker trip. Is this a nice to have or an actual code issue. Please site the reference section if this is a code violation. Thanks!

RE: 12KV Oil Filled Distribution Transformer required protection

Having it disconnected or connected is not a code issue but more of a design or appliction issues. Often times the dry contacts of the oil temp or pop off pressure valve is taken to an annuncitor panel or PLc etc.
Many tranformers have them and many are not wired to anything.
You may be setting yourself up for a problem by just arbitrarily having them trip the upstream breaker without additional thought.
